After completing a fashion and textile degree programme at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design in England, Sandra moved directly into increasingly challenging positions from Assistant Fashion Editor at British Vogue to Overseas buyer with the T. Eaton Co. based out of London and then Paris. From working with amazing fashion designers, photographers, hair and makeup artists, at the magazine in the 70’s, the learning experience set the tone for future career development. Travelling Europe to source suppliers and market trends for Eaton’s relevant to the Canadian consumer ultimately led her back to Canada.
As Fashion and Beauty Editor for Miss Chatelaine, she worked through the metamorphosis into Flare Magazine, now celebrating thirty years. She returned to retail as a buyer and the Fashion Director at Hazelton Lanes in Toronto. She was instrumental in developing a boutique ‘street of shop’, Little Lanes, that had a reputation for carrying unique and very fashion forward accessories; everything from handbags and jewellery to lingerie and hose.
She has been a contributing guest host on Cityline for twenty years, first as a fashion stylist and now in a variety of areas, always focused on good style, whether for the home or the body. She continues to work as a freelance stylist for a number of retail clients.
Her pastimes include a love of family and friends with a passion for travel, sports, food and champagne.
