A New Me

Today is the last day of the CityLine weight loss challenge with Dr.Joey. I can’t believe it has been three months already.

Today is the last day of the CityLine weight loss challenge with Dr.Joey. I can’t believe it has been three months already. Standing in the studio and looking at that huge poster of my pudgy belly makes me realize how far I have come. I am truly thankful for this experience. Dr.Joey has taught me how to find the balance between my Big Fat Greek Life and healthy eating options. It is almost second nature now to reach for vegetables and not pastries. Of course, I still enjoy desserts and carb-loaded treats, but it just isn’t my focus anymore. A small serving size, a little nibble and I am satisfied. It no longer seems to be my go-to food.

Officially I am down 22.5 lbs and 17 inches but the best transformation has to be my increase in energy. In the original tape, I said how I admired Tracy Moore’s energy levels and seemingly rapid weight loss. I now know that energy comes from what we put in our bodies and not manufactured processed foods. I once thought sugary sweets were the ticket to sustaining my busy days as a new mom. Now I realize that they hinder energy levels and actually make you hungrier faster.

This has been a great journey and I am looking forward to treating myself, not with cookies but with new clothes. Thanks to the Toronto Eaton Centre, for the first time in a long time, I can buy something for myself. With Lynn Spence’s tips, I now will be able to get out of my oversized sweats into more flattering clothes.

Dr.Joey has agreed to continue to work with me as I still want to get down more weight. With a follow up CityLine show scheduled for the fall, I am excited to stay on track and check in with everyone at that time.

Now, baby Vaia and I are off to enjoy the sunny weather. Fitness, healthy foods and fun is what we will be enjoying together as a family. Fruit and veggie packed meals is on the menu for baby…….and me.

Thank you CityLine and Dr.Joey!!!!
