Here are the instructions for making DIY expert Denise Wild’s yarn mâché basket to hold all your goodies this Easter.

Yarn mâché Easter basket

Materials:

Balloon
Yarn
Scissors
Paper mâché paste
Large bowl
Measuring cup
Mixing spoon

Method:

1. Inflate a balloon and tie the yarn to the balloon knot.

2. Wrap the yarn around the balloon following a random pattern.

3. If you want to change yarn colours, tie on the new yarn and continue wrapping the balloon.

4. When you’ve covered the balloon with yarn, finish by tying the yarn to the balloon knot.

5. Prepare your paper mâché mix in a large mixing bowl.

6. Dip your balloon into the paper mâché mix and roll it around until it’s completely covered.

7. Allow your balloon to dry completely. Depending on the thickness of your yarn, this could take 24 hours or even a couple days.

8. Once your balloon is dry, cut a semi-circle out of the front and back of the top of the balloon (the end with the knot), leaving a handle for your basket.

9. Fill your yarn mâché basket with treats and enjoy!
