Gardening expert Carson Arthur tests out some crafty ways to show off your plants in mason jars — a great last-minute DIY gift idea!
Terrariums
(original DIY here)
Materials:
- Quart mason jar
- Stones for drainage
- Miniature orchid
Method:
Fill the mason jar with several inches of drainage stones.
Place the miniature orchid in the mason jar.
Fill around the orchid with more drainage stones up to the level of the bottom of the orchid.
Snow globe
Method:
Glue an ornament to the lid of the mason jar
Add 1 inch of glitter to the jar, then fill with water. Skim off the top layer of glitter (this will stick to your ornament) then put the lid on and shake. Instant Snow Globe!
