DIY Christmas crackers
Pulling Christmas crackers are a holiday tradition in many homes, and Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault shows you how to make your own at home!
DIY Christmas crackers
Materials:
Wrapping paper
Scissors and patterned scissors
Toilet paper rolls
Tape
Cracker “snappers”
Small toys or treats
Ribbon
Wooden gift tags
Benjamin Moore’s chalkboard paint
How To:
Cut pieces of wrapping paper 3x the width of the toilet paper roll, and long enough to wrap twice around.
Fold the paper into equal thirds along the width, and make small cuts along the edge to help the paper sync better when tying ends with ribbon.
Secure the “snapper” inside the roll with a piece of tape, and then secure the roll to the edge of the paper with another piece of tape.
Roll the paper around the tube and secure with a final piece of tape.
Secure one end closed with ribbon, and add toys or treats into the open end.
Close the other end by adding the second piece of ribbon tied in a bow.
Trim the edges of the wrapping paper with patterned scissors.
Finally, add a wooden tag painted with chalkboard paint and write guests name on them for each place setting.

Where did u buy the cracker snappers?
Hi Jennifer!
You can buy cracker snappers at Michael’s. Happy cracking!
Okay, gathering my supplies and making these up today. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Well they’re all done and they’re gorgeous! Way better than store bought, I personalized the gifts inside for each person and added jokes, tissue paper hats and Purdy’s Chocolate Bells. I’m very happy, thanks for the idea Cityline!
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your success story, Renata! Hope you’ll make them again next year!
