Want to add a cozy feel to your holiday decor? This easy DIY sweater art from Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault uses yarn to give a special authentic touch.

DIY: Sweater Art

Project Colours (all Benjamin Moore):

“Exotic Red” 2086-10

“Pewter” 2121-30

“Overcoat” CC-544

Instructions:

Base coat three 11″x16″ pre-gesso canvases with a colour of your choice. I used “Exotic Red” for a bright, festive punch of colour.

Using chalk, sketch out a silhouette of a simple Christmas image such as a tree, gingerbread man, or mitten.

Next, fill in the silhouette with another colour of your choice using an artist brush. I used a combination of “Pewter” and “Overcoat”.

Once dry, use a thick upholstery needle and some yarn to hand stitch around the perimeter of the silhouette.

Glue on a few button embellishments, and TA-DAH…you have some easy and inexpensive art to dress your walls for the holiday season.
