Deep-Fried Mars Bar
Ingredients
4 whole Mars bars
1/4 cup flour
Beer Batter (same as with halibut):
1 1/2 cups flour
5 g salt
2 whole eggs
1 1/4 cup canola oil
1 cup Newcastle Brown beer (and brown ale)
3 whole egg whites
Mars Bar method:
Freeze the Mars bar solid.
When ready roll in the 1/4 cup of flour and dust off.
Place in the beer batter, remove while allowing the excess to drain off.
Slowly place in the deep fryer and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
Remove and serve immediately.
Beer Batter Method (same as with halibut):
In a mixing bowl combine the flour, whole eggs, salt and canola oil.
Once mixed slowly add the beer working out the lumps as you go.
In a separate bowl whip the egg whites to soft peak.
Fold both measures together, cover and sit overnight.
Makes 4 portions
